1. Take Enough Lessons

It’s common for learners to underestimate how many lessons they will need to reach test standard. The DVSA recommends around 45 hours of professional tuition plus, if possible, around 22 hours of private practice.

During your practical test, you’ll be asked a ‘Tell Me’ question about car maintenance and a ‘Show Me’ question.

Nerves can affect your performance. While often easier said than done, staying calm during your test can make a huge difference. Practice breathing techniques, avoid caffeine before your test, and remember that mistakes can be minor and won’t always result in failure.
